Friday, August 4th, 5:30 PM - Waltham Land Trust Blue Heron Bridge Walk.
Join us for a short walk to the beautiful new Blue Heron Bridge. The
Department of Conservation and Recreation's new pedestrian bridge, opened
last summer, spans the Charles River and connects Newton from the Cheesecake
Brook to woodlands on the opposite bank in Watertown. Meet in the southeast
corner of the Stop & Shop parking lot at 700 Pleasant St, just over the
Waltham/Watertown line.

Sunday, August 13th, 10 AM - Waltham Land Trust Beaver Brook Reservation
North Walk. Join us to explore the Department of Conservation and
Recreation's newest reservation, 254 acres located on the grounds of the old
Met State Hospital. Beaver Brook North is now open to the public. We will
traverse some of the old carriage paths and smaller side trails. The
reservation contains a wide variety of natural communities, including upland
forests and meadows, forested wetlands, emergent marshes and wet meadows
with certified vernal pools. Meet at the Elsie Turner Field, 421 Trapelo
Rd.

Also, Save the Date! WLT Annual Meeting - October 25th, 2006
The speaker will be Paul Hellmuth, Greenway expert and author of "Designing
Greenways"
