Sunday, October 15th 1-4 PM -Canoe and Kayak on the Charles.  Join the Land
Trust for a look at the land from the water.  We will depart from the Woerd
Avenue Boat Launch.  There will be some canoes available for experienced and
novice participants, but space is limited.  Participants may also bring
their own canoe or kayak. Please call 781-893-3355 to pre-register.  

Sunday, October 22nd 2-4 PM - Fall Foliage Walk at Prospect Hill Park.  Join
us for views of Boston and the fall foliage as we hike to Boston Rock in
Prospect Hill Park.  Meet at the South entrance to the park, on Prospect
Hill Rd, off Main St.  Call 781-893-3355 for more information.

Wednesday, October 25th 7-9 PM - WLT Annual Meeting at the Public Library.
Election of new Board members and other business will be at 7 PM.  The
meeting opens to the public at 7:30 PM with refreshments and a presentation
by Paul Hellmund, co-author of Designing Greenways (2006) and co-editor of
Ecology of Greenways (1993).  The focus of Mr. Hellmund's work is on design,
research, practice, and teaching to improve the relationship between people
and nature, especially in urban, suburban, and degraded landscapes.

Also! Tuesday, October 17th 7-10 PM - Community Preservation. The Community
Preservation Coalition will present an overview of the way CPA and CPC works
in other communities for the benefit of the Waltham CPC and public. The CPC
will eventually recommend millions of dollars in funding various
preservation projects in Waltham. City Council Chambers.
